Roar® Adds New Ride for 2017 Motorcycle Rally

ERIE – Roar on the Shore® organizers today announced the addition of Roar to the Parks, a new ride for the 2017 charitable motorcycle rally, which will be held Sunday, July 16. All media are invited to attend.

“We wanted to give visitors a chance to see even more of the great attractions that our region has to offer,” said rally spokesman Tammy Polanski. “We think this new ride is going to be a home run!”

The gathering begins at Erie’s own Waldameer Park (Rainbow Gardens parking lot, 3100 West Lake Road) from 9 – 10 a.m., and then travels to the world famous Pymatuning Spillway where riders can feed the carp. Next is a stop at Woodcock Lake Park before heading back to UPMC Park to enjoy an afternoon SeaWolves baseball game against Akron.

Donation is $20 per bike and includes a discounted pass to Waldameer, ticket to the baseball game, Smith’s hot dog and special bike parking. Roar to the Parks is sponsored by the Lake Erie Freedom Chapter Victory Motorcycle Club, Erie SeaWolves and Off-Road Express.

Roar on the Shore®, Erie’s 11th annual Official Bike Week, is an American Motorcyclist Association-sanctioned event that offers riders a chance to choose from 11 different rides July 12, 13, 14, 15 & 16. See for detailed ride information.

All proceeds from the 2017 Roar on the Shore® benefit the Mercy Center for Women. The Mercy Center for Women is a ministry of the Sisters of Mercy that provides safe and supportive transitional housing, education and counseling for homeless women in the region.
