Answers About The New HUB

Roar has a new HUB: Lake Erie Speedway

Roar on the Shore 2019 will move to the Lake Erie Speedway, 10700 Delmas Drive, in North East, Pa. The event will take place July 17 through July 21 as scheduled.

Below is the layout for the new HUB and answers to questions we’ve received.

Will the gate and concerts remain free of charge? Yes. Roar on the Shore is committed to keeping costs as low as possible to ensure everyone can afford to participate if they choose.

Are the same bands still playing? Yes, all the headliners — Lita Ford, Night Ranger, Steven Adler of Guns N’ Roses, Stryper, as well as all of the local bands on the schedule.

I understand there is seating for concerts. Will there be a Beer Garden and what are the advantages of a Beer Garden ticket at the new venue? There is limited seating and, yes, the Beer Garden is set up exactly the same way — private bar, restrooms and up-front premium viewing. There is also a large free-admission standing area for the concerts located right on the track.

I purchased Beer Garden tickets before I learned of the change of venue. Can I still use my ticket? Of course. It is still the same bands, stage, lights, sound and premium viewing. Nothing has changed.

Will there be a parade? Yes. We are using the exact same Erie County route we have traveled during the past 12 years. We have filed all the necessary permits and paperwork with the appropriate officials. Unfortunately, we were not able to get a permit from the City of Erie and will need to reroute the portion of the parade that is outside the city limits. We currently are working on which route will work best. Once that decision is made, we will apply for the permit from the appropriate authorities. We will announce the new route as soon as it is approved.

Do I need to pay for parking? No. There is ample free parking for bikes and cars.

I have an RV. Can I camp at the speedway? If not, where is the closest camping? There is no camping at the speedway, however, there are a number of campgrounds within a few miles of the speedway.

Where is the closest place to stay to the Roar event? There are 2,971 hotel rooms within 15 miles of the speedway.

Lake Erie Speedway has no shade – no trees or places to get out of the sun. Will there be accommodations for the heat during Roar? There is plenty of cover at the speedway and the Budweiser Pavilion is all under a very large tent.

Will there be a shuttle service provided before and after the concerts? Maybe there could be one provided to a set location like the casino? Some hotels provide shuttle service. Please check with the concierge. Gannon University will be providing shuttle service for their guests. Uber also will be available.

How far is the speedway from the original downtown site? Exactly 16.3 miles. If you take Route 20 or Route 5, you will see some of the most beautiful countryside and lakefront wineries anywhere.

I am a vendor and have not reserved my spot yet. What are the advantages for a vendor at the new location? There is no city permit fee. The area is all asphalt surface. All of the vendors are in one single area, and restrooms, food and drink are available within steps. There is on-site vendor parking and all vendor setups will be under lock and key with 24-hour surveillance.
